2009 has arrived and so has a new real estate company in the Dallas, Texas area. As a broker I have decided to open my own company, Thompson Legacy Realty. It is an exciting time!

For the past few years I have worked with my uncle, also a broker, and that experience has been very valuable. He is now an independent broker and custom home builder. In the past he owned a Century 21 franchise and prior to that he was in commercial real estate. I will always be grateful for all he has taught me, but I have wanted to open my own company, also.

He and I still have plans to invest in real estate together, but will have our own real estate brokerages.

According to Money Magazine North Texas has four of the top 20 places to live. McKinney, Carrollton, Richardson and Allen (all Dallas suburbs) are in the top 20. Money magazine listed the top 100 and the Dallas area did very well because we have not been hurt as badly by the down market in real estate. Therefore, all the bad news you are hearing about real estate on the national news does not really apply to our area.

Sherrill Park Ranks High In Texas Golf

Richardson’s Sherrill Park Golf Course No. 1 and No. 2 were ranked in the top 25 among the most economically priced golf courses in the state according to The Dallas Morning News publication “Texas Golf” published in February.

Richardson’s Course No. 1 was ranked 4th in the Mid-Priced category ($41-$54) and Course No. 2 was ranked 4th in the Economy category ($40 and below).

Course No. 1 was also ranked 89th in the list of the top 100 golf courses in the state and was ranked 32nd in the list of top 50 courses in the state open to the public.

Leon Howard originally designed both courses and D. A. Weibring and Golf Resources redesigned them.

The course rankings were based on seven criteria including versatility, shotmaking, design, beauty, maintenance, enjoyment and memorability.
