In the last year the Telecom Corridor® are of Richardson has experienced renewed growth. The University if Texas at Dallas has added an $85 million Natural Science and Engineering Research Lab. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas will lease office space in a new 34 acre, 1.1 million square foot development that will begin construction this year. Metro PSC will move its corporate headquarters here in October. Hall Financial will construct new office buildings on a 62 acre office development at 190 and Custer Road. Other office projects include US Oncology, DeVry Institute and Cisco systems. Granite Properties is expanding with a second 150,000 square foot building.
Retail redevelopment in several locations is another significant factor in commercial real estate in Richardson. Also a 30 acre mixed use project with 500 apartments, 300 condos and 150 town homes with supporting retail is taking shape at Spring Valley and Greenville.
