Richardson’s NETWORK of Community Ministries hosts the annual Billye Meyer Tournament Oct. 5, beginning with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Four person teams will play a Florida Scramble. Fees include green fees, cart, range balls, goody bag, hole prizes and lunch and dinner served at Sherrill Park Pavilion. There will be separate putting and chipping contests.
The tournament is named for Billye Meyer, Richardson’s most distinguished ambassador of good will who spent her life promoting the people and businesses of Richardson.
The NETWORK provides food, clothing and limited financial assistance to needy people in the Richardson Independent School District. In 2006, the NETWORK served more than 14,000 families and more than a half million pounds of food was distributed.
